The Noosa Business Association fosters strong working relationships with local council, media organisations and the region's business and tourism bodies. Below is a list of the projects we have initiated and conducted for promoting the Noosaville community and local businesses.
Christmas Light Up
In December 2013 the Association was approached by local Noosaville traders seeking help to establish a Christmas tree on the Thomas Street roundabout to help create a sadly lacking festive feel to the area. Fundraising was commenced and we were able to light up the roundabout in December 2014. Total cost of the lights installed was just over $8,000.00 with one half being contributed by the local community and the other half being contributed by the Noosaville Business Association. Noosa Council also assisted by arranging electricity to the area for the lights.
The lights have remained in the tree to be lit up each year however we must maintain the lights which is a further cost to the Association.
Noosa River Market
We are currently in our community consultation phase which is part of the application process with Council. We are making sure where possible that we address any concerns that local businesses or residents may have in order to make these markets as trouble and stress free as possible. We hope to be bringing a fabulous and family friendly market to the Noosaville foreshore very soon.
We teamed up with level Up Design, a local graphic and web design studio to create a contemporary promotional web site for our members. By updating our system, we have simplified the membership application process. Using the latest in design and technology, the Noosaville Business Association's new website is fully responsive and works great on all devices including smart phones, tablets and computers, allowing maximum exposure for members.
Renew Australia is a new national social enterprise designed to catalyse community renewal, economic development, the arts and creative industries across Australia.
It works with communities and property owners to take otherwise empty shops, offices, commercial and public buildings and make them available to incubate short term use by artists, creative projects and community initiatives.
The Noosaville Business Association contributed to help to invite Mr. Marcus Westbury, the founder of Renew Australia to Noosa, to discuss how we can utilise this initiative in Noosa.
